According to your dates of stay, you will do your visit on the morning or the afternoon. Morning programm Your tour starts in Kanda, a small downtown for Japanese businessmen where you can see many small Japanese style bars. You weave through Otemachi, the financial business center of Tokyo and pass under the famous traditional gates of the Tokyo Imperial Palace: Sakuradomon. Artisan Shopping Tour in Tokyo in English (half day group): Discover secrets of Japanese culture in Tokyo! Your tour begins in Ningyocho, a district known for its timeless traditions. You will stop and visit traditional candy shops and a bakery. In the latter, you will taste a small stuffed sponge cake: the Ningyoyaki. You then go to a rice cake store (Senbei) before going to a place famous for its hand-woven towels, called tenugui. You then head to one of the 8 shrines in the district where virtue, longevity, learning and wealth are worshipped. Afterwards, you continue to Nihonbashi, a former merchant district and now one of Tokyo's financial centers. Learn the secrets of Japanese calligraphy in this district while visiting an ancient stationery shop. You start by visiting the “nightingale floors” castle of Nijo-jo, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You continue your tour at the emblematic place of Kinkaku-ji, nicknamed the golden pavilion, another UNESCO World Heritage Site. You finish the tour with the discovery of the Kyoto imperial palace, which was used as the Emperor's residence until about 150 years ago. When the palace is closed, you visit the Kitano Ten mangu shrine: its main shrine is considered a national treasure!
